Pedophile

Nowadays, child abuse's problem has become so frequently occur in our society. Although this crime is not a new problem in our country, but statistic of this problem has been increased and getting worse every year. 13 May 1990 and 8 May 1992 were become a starting case of children’s abuse in our country. K. Balasundram who was being abused by his caretaker until he meets his death with bad scars on his body and Nurul Syuhada Abdullah who also abused by his caretaker were shocked our country in early 21st century. In spite of advancement in science, technology and education, it still can’t deny this crime from happen inside of it.
Even in our Malay community, we also have a story about child abuse such as Bawang Putih Bawang Merah. In West, they also had stories about children’s abuse such as Cinderella and Hasel and Gretel. This story has a same plot – their step-parents whose being given negative stereotyped values such cruel, irresponsible and selfish abused them (physical and mental). From the whole of the stories, we can conclude that maybe their step-parents want to discipline them, but we also can conclude that their step-parents ways to educate them was too savage and cruel.
Based on research held by NGOs, child abuse can happen to all people neither in races, occupations, socioeconomic positions, religions, ideologies and delimitation of a country.
From sociology’s point of view, child abuse’s syndrome refers to hitting and injuring acts to children intentionally. Concept of this abuse is extensive and including various aspects as physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. Physical abuse refers to violence which is conducted by parents and caretakers. Then, sexual abuse or also called as pedophile refers to the sexual exploitation of children. This crime can be do with variety of method. Subsequently, emotional abuse can be seen also in various way such as psychiatric disorders. They will experience a mental conflict and always being haunted by their old memories.
According to dictionary, pedophile is an adult who is sexually attracted to young children. From sociology’s point of view, child abuse’s syndrome refers to hitting and injuring acts to children intentionally. Pedophile is the worst of the worst criminal in this world because he hurt children. Childrens must be protected by us not preyed upon. If pedophile placed in a prison –that full of other criminals such as killers, rapists and thieves, they all will hurt or kill him. Meanwhile, pedophile is a crime that committed by person whose age sixteen years old or older which primarily or exclusively sexually attracted to prepubescent children (generally eleven years old or less) according to Studer Lea H., Aylwin A. Scott (2006).
Refer to Schechter and Roberge (1976), sexual abuse is ‘an involvement of dependent, developmentally immature children and adolescents in sexual activities that they do not fully comprehend, are unable to give informed consent to, and that violate the social taboos of family roles’ (ABC Child Protection,1992). Moreover, this definition completed by Brant and Tisza’s (1977) with adding some addition: ‘Exposure of children in sexual simulation inappropriate to the child’s age and level of psycho-social development’ (ABC Child Protection).
Apart from that, some cases show that a kid aged seven years old had committed sexual abuse to a kid who is younger than him. So, this shows us that sexual abuse not only commit by adults, but also commit by children and teenagers. But, cases recorded is less if compare with cases that committed by adults.
The reasons why children became the perfect victim is every child in this world has a curiosity that may kill them. They always want to know how and why it happened. These children were so curious about they own sexuality and of course they are too young to be teach about this section from their parent or teacher. They start to make friend and friend is the best teacher who will active they imagination and curiosity. This culprit will try to get their attention and after they get this child confidence, they start to trap them into the next stage. Furthermore, Children also naturally follow the authority of adult. From very young, children will teach by their parent to be polite and listen to adult. Even the difference size between adult and children also make them scared to refuse their wish. So, it easy for these children to exploitation by adult. An example like what happen to Reached Core. British man who was abused by very high-level person in Northern Island. He said him to scare to say no because he only 9 years old boy while that person is adult who have a very high rank in that country. 
In addition, children are naturally wanting to be care, notice and love. This natural feeling makes them easy to be captured. Perpetrator just need to give more attention, and love to feed the victim. When they already trapped by this perpetrator, children will do whatever this perpetrator ask including take them home. It also might happen in family institution and mostly happen between father and daughter. Children also naturally respond to resist prenatal authority. They try not to be scolded and punished so they try to hide whatever they feel even it is unnecessary. If pedophile did by their own parent they cannot refuse it because they scared of punishment while if it happen because of another person, they might be think their parent will scold them if they know.
Statistic of sexual abuse in Malaysia issued by Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Rohani binti Abd. Karim shows there are 22,234 cases occurred from 2010 until May 2017. That reports also included that there are 4 types of sexual abuse such as rape, incest, obscene and sex outside from natural. Rape is the highest cases happen with 13,272 cases, followed by obscene (6,014 cases) and incest (1,796 cases). Not forget to mention that sex outside from natural recorded 1,152 cases. The highest cases of rape recorded is in Johor with 2,089 cases while in Sabah, incest become the most cases occur by 283. Selangor noted the highest in obscene and sex outside from natural cases (1,052 and 235).
Based on these reasons we realize that we must do something to tell the world for what does happen nowadays. At this beginning we must know how to identify children who becomes victim. So, our first research objective is to identify the characteristics of pedophile among our society. This will have divided by two types. From victim and the predator. Those characteristics will help people to figures Pedophile from very start. So that we can avoid it. When we know many of pedophile's features, it will help us to prevent pedophile occur to our acquaintances and others.
Secondly, we also want to investigate pedophile's effects in future especially to victim, his/her family, our society and our nation. So, this will help people realize that this unseen matter will be the great problem if we did not take it by fully attention.
This research also built by those questions; firstly, how this disgusting act occur in society. Secondly, what is pedophile's effects in future. Thirdly, what is pedophile's characteristics that we can identify, and we can prevent it. Therefore, our significant for this research is to bring awareness to people about harmful side of pedophile. We want to prove that this mental action is so dangerous and fault to our society and our beloved country which is in a peace and harmony. We must know that pedophile issue is become a right issue nowadays; their activists strive (with all their hearts) for it. They also want to join the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT)’s movement to fight for their own right. They had created a movement (LGBTP+ Movement). They want other people to see them just like a normal person (but it isn’t like that). With the caption #LoveIsAgeless, #LoveWins and #AboveTheHate, they want acceptance from people that always see them as a threat to others. The other people –they say, make a discrimination to them. They said that pedophile is goes against ageism discrimination on the Twitter @TheMercedezXXX. They have their own activists such as Ernst Steiner @ISARIUSteiner. This man is a founder and president of the Heart Progress Foundation. He also a progressive activist and a philanthropist. He says in his Twitter, “To all of those who consider pedosexuals to be mentally ill. Society is progressing. Get over it. #AboveTheHate.”

The second person inside this movement is Clive Martin. About him, he is a co-founder of the Heart Progress Foundation. He supported this movement and become advocate to LGBTQIAP’s movement. Progressive liberal and socialist are his ways of life. He also always supported pedophile’s movement with strive for them; for their equality and acceptance among society.
Moreover, limitation for this study is just focus on effects and characteristics of pedophile. We will only discuss about its effects to all parties and his character to being identified.
